I had same problem - in my case may have been caused by fine strands of glue from packaging stuck to the CD's

I have purchased the architect version and am having very same problem. It won't install disk 2 and I get a read error although I have checked the file and it is indeed there. Problem with the batch of CD's I suspect.
Yes! If you burn copies of their CDs, then your copies will work.

Sure, but like I said, I had problems from two different computers here. (Haven't tried any others yet.) So I'm not sure whether it's the discs, or the drives (both drives are from the same manufacturer, so it's possible that they're just a little out of tolerance somehow).

I should probably try on my home PC, and see if I have problems there - it's definitely a different manufacturer.

Pretty simple, try installing it on one of the other machines at work. If that works, then it is your drive. If that fails then it is most likely the disks, or if you all have the same drive it could still be the drive.
