When it comes to 'vision', I am reminded of the 'Meet the Delphi Team' in 2003. A question was asked 'Why should we keep developing in Delphi?' with very little response except for Danny Thorpe. The silence of Borland management was chilling. Now I do realize the passion for Delphi that runs through the veins of Danny and others Delphi programmers (including myself), but that does not keep our management from telling us to move to C#. So my question of 'vision' more toward strategic reasons to stay with Delphi and not just technical details. Telling management that we can leverage legacy code is not a good enough reason or that Dx will support the next Window API. So my redefined question is: Did Borland present a 'Why you should be using Delphi instead of C#' and support that with a long term vision of Delphi for the companies currently using Delphi?

Target release dates have not been announced for Delphi "Diamondback". It's a preview release.

Yes, we have been discussing Delphi directions beyond Diamondback. Joe White refers to "Whidbeyish Diamondback+1".

Joe,

Sure, rub it in... I messed up and going to a rainy Boston this next week. Sounds like you are having too much fun. :-)

Is there any 'target date' for the release of Diamondback? Has the 'vision' been set for Delphi beyond Diamondback?
